A sound bath is deeply therapeutic and you can gain inner peace, quiet reflection and calm.
In our day to day lives we are in BETA brainwaves. Buzzing around and in a constant state of readiness. The soundwaves from instruments such as gongs, quartz crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, meditation flow chimes, drums and Koshi chimes flow over you in their vibrations and frequencies and you will enter into a brainwave relaxed state called THETA. Your breathing will slow down, your blood pressure reduces and you will drift and let thoughts come and go. You will feel calm, less anxious and peaceful.
The quartz crystal bowls are tuned to 432 Hz. This is said to be the natural frequency of the Universe, which can promote healing and relaxation. This frequency is also said to be the same frequency of The Earth, The Sun and even our own DNA
All of these sound vibrations can unblock energy stored in the body and chakras, calming and rebalancing the central and parasympathetic nervous system ( Fight or Flight emotions) and releasing this blocked energy.
It can help alleviate physical pain, calm anxiety, clear negative energy form your body, and bring positive energy in. It can help you let go of negative emotions and find a deeper sense of inner peace.
Mindfulness and meditation are powerful tools to our overall well-being. My meditation journeys are designed to help you achieve inner peace. We will practise a variety of techniques ranging from breathwork, guided imagery and sound therapy.
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we're doing and not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what's going on around us.
How can we be mindful?
Take some time for yourself to sit quietly
Observe the present moment as it is
Let thoughts come and go, don't judge them
Return to observing the present moment as it is
Be kind to yourself, don't judge, just notice and let it go
Meditation is exploring. It's not a fixed destination. Your mind will wander, you can never completely clear your mind of thoughts and chatter, it's impossible. This is ok!. We journey through our mind, our feelings and emotions, sensations of our bodies. We stop judging ourselves and feel free to be curious about ourselves and above all be kind to ourselves and each other.
How do you meditate?
Breathwork, this anchors you to sensations, to be a focus. It is always there and you can come back to it to calm you down if you're feeling anxious. Breathe in for 5 and out for 7
Sit or lay quietly
Soften your gaze or close your eyes
Notice how you are feeling emotionally
Notice how your body is feeling
Feel your breath
Notice where and how you are breathing, chest or belly, nose or mouth
Notice if your mind wanders off, if it does, bring attention back to your breath
Be kind to yourself, if your mind is still wandering, don't judge it, let it go and come back to the breath
When you're ready, slowly open your eyes, notice any sounds, take a moment to notice how you feel, your body feels.
